Terms of Service

Last updated September 5, 2026.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Cawcus (the "Service"), a hosted feedback and bug-tracking board product. By creating an account, submitting a post as a guest, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. The Service

Cawcus lets customers ("Board owners") create feedback boards where end users can submit ideas and bug reports, vote, and comment. Board content can also be surfaced to AI coding agents over an MCP interface. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and may offer free and paid plans with different limits, as described on our pricing page.

3. Creating an account

You can register for an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with GitHub OAuth. New accounts are asked to choose a username as part of a short onboarding step before they can access boards. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, to create an account.

4. Guest use

Public boards can be used without an account: guests may submit posts, vote, and leave public comments. Guest activity is tracked using a long-lived browser cookie so that votes and posts can be attributed consistently without registration. Guests cannot access internal comments, move a post's status, or manage a board.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the posts, comments, and other content you submit to a board ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process it as needed to operate and improve the Service, including passing it to the third-party providers described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for User Content you submit and must not post anything unlawful, infringing, or abusive.

6. Board owner responsibilities

If you create a board, you're responsible for how you configure it, who you grant admin or contributor access to, and for moderating content submitted to it. Board owners must comply with applicable law with respect to any personal data collected from their board's users, including guests.

7. AI features

Some features, such as AI-assisted title generation and the MCP task interface, send board content to a third-party AI inference provider for processing. Do not submit content through these features that you aren't permitted to share with that provider. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel or change plans at any time from your account settings; changes take effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

9. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, distribute malware, attempt unauthorized access to any account or board, or interfere with the Service's operation, including scraping or abusing the public embed API or MCP interface.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any account that violates these Terms, with or without notice. This includes accounts we determine, at our discretion, are being used to post spam, unsolicited advertising, or otherwise abusive or low-quality content to boards.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent via our contact page.
